Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is a program administered by the FL Dept. of Economic Opportunity that provides temporary financial aid to individuals whose employment has been either lost or interrupted as a direct result of a major disaster.

Reemployment Assistance (also called unemployment insurance) provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals out of work through no fault of their own.

Assistance Requirements

  • Unemployed (through no fault of your own)
  • Low to moderate total household income based on household size and HUD requirements

To File RA You Need

  • Social Security Number, or for non- U.S. citizens, an Alien registration number
  • Govt. issued ID
  • Employer info (last 18 mos.)
  • Email- Your own email address (you cannot share an email address with another person)
  • Phone- to receive calls or texts for a multi-step verification process 

Apply Online Multi-Step Verification

  • Go to www.FloridaJobs.com
  • Click on CLAIMANTS in the top right corner of the homepage
  • Complete the multi-step verification
  • process (be sure to have access to your phone and email at this time)
  • Verify ID
  • Set up your account with email and password

  • Once your account is set up and ID verified, you will be able to use the CONNECT system, which provides online access for claimants to apply for benefits, view and maintain claimant account information, view claim status and payments

Eligibility Requirements

  • Unemployed
  • Unable to reach your place of employment
  • Cannot work due to injury
  • Scheduled to work but no longer have a job
  • Have become the primary provider due to the death of the head of household

To File DUA, You Need

  • Social Security Number, or for non- U.S. citizens, an Alien registration number
  • Name & address of the employer affected by the disaster
  • If self-employed, including but not limited to:
  • Tax returns- state or federal
  • Financial statements
  • Bank records or 1099 Forms

Apply Online

  • Go to CONNECT.MyFlorida.com
  • Select “ Sign up now” if you have not accessed the System prior to September 2021
  • Follow the steps to complete the application
